Sorry to post this to the list, but I tried posting directly to Carl
McQuery and could not get through.

The Tempe Historical Museum in Tempe, Arizona (site of Super Bowl
XXX) has a machine in its collection that was developed by a
researcher at Arizona State University (also in Tempe). The purpose
of the machine is to extract scorpion venom and freeze-dry it for
use in making an antidote for the venom. The technical name for the
machine is a lyophilizer.
