You make two excellent points, both of which have been covered in museum
exhibits.  First there was (and maybe still be there) an excellent
exhibit at the American History Museum on the internment of Japanese
Americans.  Also the American Holocaust Museum in Washington does devote
space to the gays, Jehovah Witnesses and others who perished in the camps.
