I would suggest the use of "The Complete IDIOT'S guide to Business Plans, "
a 2005 publication. It's a very basic and useful book with a lot of good
information that is easy to follow and can be modified for museum
applications and helpful to practicing museum professionals. We can all
benefit from knowing how to sell ideas and promote our expertise. The
authors are Gwen Moran and Sue Johnson have some practical advice and
provide strategies.

Although not a "business plan" guide, try Starting Right: A Basic Guide to
Museum Planning, by Gerald George and Cindy Sherrell-Leo, published by
AASLH/Altamira. It covers the "museum stuff" that regular business planning
doesn't.

I am interested in developing an art museum and would
like assistance finding those gory details needed to
construct a viable "business plan".
