What goes in to every piece of art? three terms, subject, form and content.
subject is the "what" in art. what is depicted? people, cows, buildings,
shapes, etc. form is the "how". how did the artist show the subject?
materials, oil on canvas, representational (realistic), or distorted
(abstract). content is the "why". why did the artist make this work of
art, reveals the meaning, message and mood. this is a great approach for
kids because they can get it, and you teach by asking them lots of
questions, showing them how much they already know! works well with a range
of ages and styles of art. best of luck!
