Subject: CAS Library on Internet

The California Academy of Sciences Library online catalog (DRA) is now
accessible over the Internet. Our online catalog is a joint venture with
the San Francisco Public Library, which hosts CAS Library's database on
its DRA system [as a part of the "San Francisco Connection" project which
has created a public lending collection at CAS Library and Biodiversity
Resource Center -- TM].

To log in via telnet, telnet to: sfpl.lib.ca.us and enter CASPAC at the
username prompt.

Via WWW, use the URL telnet://sfpl.lib.ca.us/ or connect via the San
Francisco Public Library's Home Page: http://nick.sfpl.lib.ca.us (click
on the SFPL Online System menu choice and then on the CONNECT option and
enter CASPAC as username).

Holdings of the CAS Library are also integrated into the University of
California's MELVYL catalog which is accessible at most campus addresses
of UC (e.g. MELVYL.Berkeley.edu) as well as at MELVYL.UCOP.edu AND by
modem (anyone interested in modem connections can receive descriptive
information on request).

PLEASE NOTE: Full retrospective conversion has not yet been completed
particularly for non-current series held in the Main CAS Library so it may
be worth calling to check holdings.
