Subject: Call for Museum Studies Citations

Call for Museum Studies Citations

Museological literature is often under-utilized and difficult to locate
because published works appear in diverse disciplines and are not indexed by
one source. To help address this gap, the Smithsonian Institution created
and maintains the Museum Studies Database (www.siris.si.edu). The Database
contains theses, dissertations and major papers written on museological
topics, in English, at the master and doctoral levels. The citations focus
on topics that investigate museum theory and practice, or that are
disciplinary or interdisciplinary-based inquiries related to museum issues
(i.e. museum studies, folklore, history, anthropology, arts management,
public history, museum education, law, etc...). If you or your university
department have citations to contribute, please send the following: Name of
the author, title of dissertation, date, degree level, university department
or program in which the work was done, the source where someone could access
a copy, and other information, such as abstract, if available. Please
e-mail, fax or mail to: Tracie Sam, Smithsonian Center for Education and
Museum Studies, MRC 427, A&I Room 2235, Washington, D.C. 20560-0427 USA or
Fax: 202-357-3346 or E-mail: [log in to unmask]
