I am not aware of an on-line manual, but I know that AAM has a Museum
Visitor Services Manual in its bookstore catalogue. It might be of some
help to you.

Our Convention & Visitors Bureau has put out a restuarant guide that we keep
at the front desk. They also give us free city maps every year that we keep
at the front desk. It makes it easier when trying to give out-of-town
visitors directions to various places in town. If your museum is on a city
bus route, it would probably be a good idea to have at least one copy of the
time schedule at the information desk.
