The Dibner Award
for Excellence in Exhibits of the History of Technology and Culture

Through the generosity of the late Bern Dibner and the Charles Edison
Fund, the Society for the History of Technology established the Dibner
Award to encourage the production of quality museum exhibits that
interpret the history of technology, industry, and engineering to the
general public.

Winning exhibits
     * raise significant and pertinent historical issues;
     * are based on solid and current scholarship, correct and complete
       in factual content and implication;
     * use artifacts and images to interest, teach, and stimulate
       both the general public and historians; and
     * are well designed and produced

Anyone, including the institution or individual responsible for its
creation, may nominate an exhibit for the Dibner Award. Exhibits less
than two years old are eligible for the award; preferably, nominations
are to be made within a year of the show's opening. Entire museums may
be nominated as well.

Nominations for the 1996 Dibner Award close on 15 April. For further
information and nomination forms, contact Joyce Bedi, Dibner Award
