The Shelburne Museum is seeking applicants for Collections Care
Technicians.  Responsibilities include hands-on routine collections care
duties; such as cleaning and inspecting artifacts and vacuuming behind
barriers in exhibit buildings, artifact handling, and storage maintenance
and impovements.  Technicians will also assist in the conservation lab.
During the summer season, April- October, the position requires three days
cleaning, one day with artifact movement and storage, and one day in the
conservation lab.  During the winter season, November- March, more time
will be spent on object treatment, handling and storage and less time
cleaning in collection buildings.  These positions are specially designed
to provide practical preventive conservation experience working with
artifacts.  Such experience is beneficial when applying to undergraduate or
graduate art conservation or museum studies programs.  These full-time
positions are limited to a term of three years with possible renewal.
Salary is $16,640/year plus benefits.  Candidates should have a bachelor's
degree or equivalent and experience in handling works of art.  For
