I am working with two museums that are considering the establishment of
paid internship programs. A key issue is the appropriate level of financial
remuneration for quarter-time and half-time internships.

I'd be grateful if colleagues in the U.S. who supervise or are familiar
with such programs could e-mail me (privately, if you wish) and let me know
what your customary stipends and levels of remuneration are for interns. I
promise to keep individual responses confidential, but would be glad to
post a summary to the list in a week or so if you desire. This will allow
us to set an equitable level. I'd also be glad to hear from students about
what they were paid (IF they were paid) and whether they considered it
adequate.

Thanks.
