One would do better to read Patrick Tierney's essay in the current New
Yorker (pending 11/14/00) and compare his arguments with Chagnon's
statements on the UCSB web server.

The Salon piece and the Time WIR piece tend to trivialize what are very
serious matters in regard to indigenous peoples, hack anthropology, and
reductionism.
