The following announcement comes from a Smithsonian in-house
staff bulletin:

Museum Education Roundtable sponsors lecture -- "Museums and
Their Cities: Creating Educational Experiences for Urban
Youth," being held on March 14 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Va.
Museum of Fine Arts in Richmond. In this interactive program
designed for museum educators, teachers and community
organizations, participants will learn about the difficulties/
rewards of community programming and discuss ideas for working
with inner-city school children and other youth audiences.
After a keynote address, follow-up sessions will address ways
of establishing working relationships between museums and
schools, community agencies and other resources in cities to
better meet the needs of child audiences. Cost is $20 for MER
members; $30 for non-members (price includes lunch). Pre-
registration is required by Feb. 25. Call Sheila Pinsker at
(202) 362-7687 or Karen Holt Luetgen at (804) 649-0711 for
more information.
