We developed an Exhibits Committee which meets in person weekly for an
hour, on email almost daily and schedules other meetings when needed.
Members are: Curator of Collections, Curator of Education, Registrar,
Retail Buyer, Exhibit Techs, Tour Coordinator and Chief of Security. We
discuss *all* aspects of exhibit design and programming from initial
concept to final product. We follow an agenda usually developed by the
Curator of Collections and vote when decisions are needed. Lots of
brainstorming and discussion, with its decisions binding. It has been in
place about a year and has opened up communication incredibly. Once the
personality factor was overcome between people who really had no concept of
what the rest of the staff did on a daily basis, real progress was made.
