Can anyone help me locate the head of an "ancestor" of the people of Banaba
(Ocean Island) in the Pacific. The natives are now living on Rabi Island
in Fiji, as their island has been extensively mined for guano, by the
British governement and they were relocated. The head was exhumed approx
40 years ago by an American doctor (name unknown) and taken to the US
for placement in a museum. The Banaban people are very spiritual and when
we recently visited them in Fiji, one of the elders told us that the
ancestor was in psychic contact with her and was very "unhappy" and wanted
to be returned to his people. Any leads would be much appreciated.
This is a genuine request.
