DIRECTOR, TROY-PIKE CULTURAL ARTS CENTER

The Board of the Troy-Pike Cultural Arts Center, a 501 (c) (3) organization in 
Troy, Alabama, seeks an energetic, practical, hands-on Director to report to 
and work with the Board; to implement Board-approved policies; to provide 
conceptual leadership; to coordinate fundraising; to initiate and coordinate 
programming; to plan, organize, and direct operations including personnel and 
financial management; and to be responsible for professional practices.

The Arts Center owns and operates two buildings, a 1912 Classical Revival 
Post Office building (15,000 sq. ft.) currently undergoing a $1.6m renovation 
into the Holman and Ethel Johnson Arts Center, and a storefront Studio (3420 
sq. ft.) across the street.  The Director will also supervise the renovation.  

An undergraduate degree in the arts or business or its equivalent is required; a 
graduate degree is preferred.  Basic proficiency with computer and related 
technology is required. 

One to three years management and administrative experience is desired; 
additional arts management experience and/or experience with a cultural arts 
center is preferred.  Administrative experience including staff supervision, 
budget development, fundraising, and financial oversight is desirable.

Demonstrated ability to provide creative leadership, to establish and maintain 
effective working relationships with others and to think, act, and plan in a 
strategic manner is necessary.

Salary commensurate with experience, $40,000-$60,000.  Benefits including 
health insurance and retirement plan are negotiable.
