Charlie Lucas is a well-known Alabama artist who makes sculpture from found
objects, mostly metal parts from cars, bikes, etc.  His work is represented
in our collection with 10 horse sculptures built from automobile leaf
springs and other stuff.  See it at:

Also, there is a very handsome pictorial book on his work recently published
by the University of Alabama Press.
