EXHIBITIONS PROJECT DIRECTOR
 
PERCENTAGE:        Full Time
 
STARTS:            As soon as possible
 
SALARY RANGE:      $24500-$28555
 
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITY:
        Manage all phases of diverse exhibition projects.
 
BASIC TASKS:
        Manage collaborations between members of project teams to
        successfully complete projects.
 
        Serve as member of Exhibition Group planning overall direction of
        Museum's exhibit program.
 
        Coordinate new exhibition development, design and installation with
        other Museum departments.
 
        Set up and manage project schedules and budgets.
 
        Select and work with outside consultants, advisors and vendors,
        including specifying work, contract requirements (in collaboration
        with Director of Finance & Administration) and supervision of work.
 
        Prepare reports, proposals, fundraising materials as required.
 
        Research, correspondence and phone calls as needed.
 
        Directs projects, exhibit-related or otherwise, as assigned.
 
        Assists Visitor Services on floor when needed.
 
        Reports to Associate Director of Exhibitions.
 
SKILLS REQUIRED:
        Must be familiar with museum exhibition development, design and
        fabrication process with at least 2-5 years experience in field.
 
        Must have strong interpersonal skills.
 
        Must have budgeting, scheduling, word processing and strong
        organizational skills.
 
        Should be curious, intrepid, flexible, have sense of humor, value
        collaboration, be interested in concepts as well as construction.
