Auction Specialist, Online Auctions, NYC
For our internationally prominent arts business client, we are seeking an
Auction Specialist for their online auction services.  The successful
applicant will work with sellers, gallery owners, dealers and collectors to
build an inventory of art available at online auctions.  The Specialist will
manage the existing account base and grow new business, target new sellers,
markets and areas of interest and identify art suitable for the auctions.
Duties include coordinating theme-related and seasonal auctions; maintaining
effective levels of inventory; working closely with marketing, management
and other sales staff to meet and anticipate client needs and relations;
reviewing trends, pricing and initiatives within the auction house market;
other duties as required.  The ideal candidate will have proven sales record
with a focus on top tier clients, proven ability to perform in a highly
competitive market, and excellent communications, networking and negotiating
skills.  Minimum 4 years in sales at an art gallery, auction house or
related business.  BA in art history required: familiarity with contemporary
and modern art strongly preferred. Salary to 75 K plus benefits.
