The Gaston County Museum of Art & History is currently seeking a collections/exhibit intern for Spring 2017.  The intern will assist the Curatorial Staff with installing our major changing exhibition as well as collections management.  The intern will also work under the guidance of the Curatorial Staff to update and maintain permanent exhibits and interpreted spaces. 

The successful candidate will be detail oriented, organized, and able to work independently.  Must be able to work with and meet deadlines, lift up to 40 pounds, and climb stairs and ladders.  Preference will be given to candidates with previous museum work or course experience and/or candidates wishing to pursue a career in museums.  Knowledge of PastPerfect collections database a plus. 

The internship is unpaid, but housing within walking distance to the museum is provided.  The internship will run from January - May 2017, and be 30 to 40 hours per week during that time. Deadline for application is October 14, 2016.
