For anyone who is interested in applying for ReCAP this September, please consult the CAP Web site at www.heritagepreservation.org/CAP. On the site you will find the eligibility requirements for CAP and ReCAP, a sample application, and a list of frequently asked questions about the program.

CAP provides a general conservation assessment of your museum's collection, environmental conditions, and site. Conservation priorities are identified by professionals who spend two days on-site and three days writing a report. The report can help your museum develop strategies for improved collections care and provide a tool for long-range planning and fund-raising. A ReCAP assessment is also a general conservation assessment of all of a museum's collections and facilities. By participating in ReCAP, a museum receives up-to-date preventive conservation advice and an updated list of prioritized recommendations for preservation improvements.

If you have questions about the process, please contact the CAP office at 202-233-0800, or at [log in to unmask] Alternatively, feel free to contact me directly at [log in to unmask] or at the phone number below.
