Vacancy Announcement with the National Park Service in Atlanta, Georgia. 

This is a term GS-11 archivist position  (13 months, extend to four years without competition).  It is open for two weeks, April 18 - May 2.

Duties:

Plan and manage archival projects to further park archives programs. 

Provide professional and technical direction for archival operations at parks in the Southeast Region, that affect the preservation, protection, and documentation of and access to archival collections. 

Writes work plans, project budgets, schedules, project statements, scopes of work, cost estimates, and proposals for museum projects at Southeast Region parks to justify funding requests and accomplish goals. 

Develop and implement archival surveys, hierarchies, and processing plans for parks, for the evaluation, documentation, preservation, research, and potential exhibit of the archival collections within the context of the parks' mission, objectives and resources.

Position Location: Southeast Region, Cultural Resources Division - Museum/Archival Services located in Atlanta, Georgia.

Travel Required, 25% or Greater. This position requires frequent travel from overnight to 3 weeks at a time.
