Also in Suzanne's practical vein, here are two lists of particular
interest to science museum folks. Both lists are pretty quiet most days,
but suffer brief "stormy" intervals when you will find maybe 4 or 5
messages a day in your box.

1) ISEN-ASTC-L, the Informal Science Educators Network listserv. To
qoute their welcome-to-the-list letter, "ISEN-ASTC-L Listserv (ISEN-ASTC-L)
is an Internet listserv that offers electronic networking for those who
care about science and science teaching in a variety of educational
settings. Although the primary users are educators and exhibit developers
who work in science museums, children's museums, zoos, and botanical
gardens, the listserv welcomes communication with volunteers and
professionals teaching science in community-based organizations, as well as
exchange with classroom teachers, teacher educators at the college level,
and researchers."

Here are subscription directions from July of this year: Subscribe by
sending an email message to the listserv. Send the message to:

[log in to unmask]

Put the word SUBSCRIBE ISEN-ASTC-L followed by <your name> in the BODY

of the message. Anything in the subject line will be ignored.

You will receive a message from the listserv asking you to confirm your

subscription. Please do so by replying with "OK" as the body of your

message. This should sign you up for the listserv and you should

automatically receive an email welcome message. If you do not receive such

a message within 24 hours, please contact [log in to unmask]

2) There is also a listserv populated by folks interested in interactive
science exhibits: It's called "WEBHEAD-L," and here are the directions for
subscribing (from last October -- I hope they haven't changed the address!):

To subscribe, send a BLANK email message to [log in to unmask],
putting the single word "subscribe" in the subject line in the header (no
quotes around "subscribe.")
