Museums & Social Issues
A Journal of Reflective Discourse
Call for Papers for Vol. 6(1)
“Incarceration”

Submissions due: June 15, 2011
Publication: Fall, 2011

The United States has the highest proportion of our population in prison. Add to that the increasing number of individuals, including juveniles, who are in detention or other court-involved programs. How does this reality affect our communities, citizens and society? How have the concepts and practices related to justice, punishment, court systems shaped our cultural identity including our values, economy, music, and literature? How have museums reflected life in prisons or served populations in court-related programs?

The peer-reviewed journal Museums & Social Issues invites submissions of papers and reviews of books, exhibits or programs for Vol. 6(1). Museums & Social Issues is a peer-reviewed journal published by Left Coast Press, Inc. For back issues of the journal, visit www.LCoastPress.com.

Prospective authors should request publication guidelines by May 1, 2011, or you can find them at www.LCoastPress.com.
