We are beginning the process of upgrading our storage facility from mostly
fixed metal shelving and wooden cabinets to storage equipment that meets
museum standards.

What I am wondering about is if there are consultants out there in the
Museum world that might come into our Museum and help us determine what
kind of cabinets, rolled storage, shelving units, etc. would be best for
our needs. Additionally, our Museum would have to make a better assessment
of our collections (ie., how many baskets do we really have). Are there
groups or individuals that supply help with this task.

There is only one full-time employee at our Museum that is concerned with
collection care and I know that these jobs are more than that person could
handle.

Any help would be appreicated.

Karen
