A lot of what Amy said goes for paid docents as well. Since I deal with
paid docents, I have often wondered about volunteer programs such as the
one she mentioned (and others I am familiar with). How common is it that
people are trained and never complete their required time commitment?
What, if anything, can be done to ensure they fulfill their end of the
bargain, as these people are giving their time freely?

Just curious!
