My institution is beginning the process of writing a comprehensive code of
ethics that will cover the range of activities at the museum, including
collections, exhibitions, education, research, development and administration.
In developing these ethical policies, we will draw from codes of ethics issued
by AAM, AASLH and ICOM, as well as from codes specific to fields within the
museum and research worlds, such as the Society of American Archivists and
the AAM Curators Committee. However, the code of ethics we ultimately write
will be specific to the museum's mission, collections, staffing and communities
the museum serves. To guide and inform the development of this policy, I am
interested to read ethics policies written and implemented by other museums,
libraries and archives, especially in the history field. If your institution would
be willing to share its code of ethics, please contact me directly at

Thanks.
