STORE MANAGER
The Store @ Cranbrook Art Museum

Cranbrook Art Museum is a small but growing institution (currently 35,000
visitors annually) north of Detroit affiliated with Cranbrook Educational
Community, including Cranbrook Academy of Art, recognized internationally
for its education programs, architecture, grounds and sculpture.  The Art
Museums collections emphasize 20th-century arts, crafts, architecture and
design, while its temporary exhibitions explore the leading edge of
contemporary visual arts.

Store Manager oversees and buys for 650 square-foot combined bookstore
(twentieth-century art and theory) and giftshop with approximately $125,000
gross sales annually, staffed by graduate workstudy students.  Store
Manager will be expected to analyze existing operation and develop a plan
for continued growth.  Store Manager reports to the Art Museum Director.

Ideal candidate will have Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) with both
strong retail/business experience and knowledge of contemporary art;
accounting skills; strong computer skills; and customer service experience.
 Position available mid-July.  Salary mid to upper $20,000; excellent
