National Steinbeck Center
Salinas, California

The National Steinbeck Center is seeking a Director of Development to be an
integral part of their senior management team. The National Steinbeck Center
is a one year old museum and archives dedicated to the writings of John
Steinbeck and the rich agricultural and cultural heritage of the Salinas
Valley.

Reporting to the CEO, the director of development will
design and implement an aggressive and diversified
funding program for capital projects, public programs, and the endowment.

Requirements include 5 years in progressive fund raising
management, a proven track record, excellent communication and
organizational skills, and able
to work confidently with board members.  Experience in museum funding and a
college degree is preferred.  Compensation will be competitive.  Send
resume, salary history, cover letter, and brief description of involvement
