Part-time Museum Education Position

The Wagner Free Institute of Science, a natural history museum and historic
landmark in North Philadelphia, seeks science educator to assist with
children's education programs for visiting school groups.  Educator will
lead field trip visits for groups, ranging in ages from pre-kindergarten
through high school.  Field trip visits include hands-on science lessons
followed by a tour of the historic museum gallery.  Science lesson topics
complement the museum’s historic natural history collection and include:
Animal Adaptations, Birds, Dinosaurs and Fossils, Food Chains, Insects,
Ocean Life, Rocks and Minerals, and Skeletons.  Educator needed
approximately 10-15 hours a week.  Candidates must work well with the
public, possess excellent public speaking skills, and demonstrate interest
and experience in science education.  BA in education or science field
preferred.
