Hancock Shaker Village announces the availability of a summer internship in
the Collections Department, supervised by the Curator.  This internship is a
hands-on learning experience for graduate students interested in museum
careers.

Successful applicant will work with the Curator on a variety of projects
including the processing of incoming and outgoing object loans, incoming
acquisitions, and upgrading the catalog information of a select category of
objects within the collection.  In addition, intern will assist with the
research and planning for the restoration and re-interpretation of three
historic buildings.

Internship is ten weeks, 35 hours per week, and can be scheduled to fit the
student's summer schedule.  Stipend is $2000 for the summer, housing may be
available.

Hancock Shaker Village is an outdoor living history museum with the most
comprehensive collection of Shaker material culture in a restored Shaker
site.  The village includes 20 original Shaker buildings on 1200 acres in
western Massachusetts.
