WEB SITE ADDRESS FOR THIS
NEW ORGANIZATION IS:
http://progress.ukonline.co.uk/
assoc/ency23as.htm

Fine artists at present are having
 to deal with the problems of ; on
 the one hand being professional
artists while on the other having to
be experts on the leading edge of
Internet technology. A situation
 that undoubtedly diminishes the
 time (and strength) we can devote
 to the business of making art!

 In addition the revenue
available (when there is any!) is
 small, hard to track down and
donated on the size and importance
 of our web site, or organization.

All of which dilute ARTIST's efforts
and resources.

 In addition few of us have time
toengage in discourse with related
 academic/art market and museum
 institutions. Although this would
seem to be vital in the development
of serious Internet art and
recognition.

Membership of an association of
Fine art websites, museums, Fine
Artists could make possible the
following:

  * A shared skills base.

Each member would contribute their
 own expertise for the good of the
 association

      * Education &  training

Online tutorials, courses and
advice for members.

* A serious Forum

 An academic platform on which to
discuss art matters and ideas.

  * A distribution  network

Specific sites worldwide that could
actively transport artworks around
the world.

      * Very large amounts of Gallery
space

 A collective could combine many
members 'Galleries' into one
enormous hyperlinked artspace.

  * the  sponsorship potential

The possibilities of major sponsors
due to the size and importance of
the association membership.

 * Financial   return
 A basis on which income can be
achieved via the Internet for the
benefit of members

    * Help & advice

 A  friendly peer group, somewhere
for us to turn in those moments of
despair!

  * Multi platform support

Diagnostics for those browser
problems...that no-one ever lets
you know are making your work look
terrible.

This newly formed Association will be
holding meetings and forums for it's
membership, and expects great
things in the coming months.

Membership fees : Currently, we
have no fees, but that may change
for those who become members
after this initial drive. If you are
interested we encourage you to join
now.
