The Tech Museum of Innovation
Position Available
Museum Store Supervisor

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Museum Store Supervisor is a full-time, exempt position reporting to
the Museum Store Manager and is responsible for the successful operation of
the Tech Museum Store.  Primary emphasis is on supervision of staff and
providing excellent customer service in order to maximize sales.
 
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Prepare staffing and other schedules for department under guidelines of
Store Manager.
· Train and supervise employees (POS system, customer service and procedures).
· Assist Store Manager in assessing staffing needs.
· Open and close store on daily basis.
· Run end of day reports and prepare deposits.
· Supervise accurate implementation of POS system.
· Set and maintain excellent housekeeping and visual merchandising standards.
· Supervise the replenishment of stock on a daily basis.
· Obtain  product knowledge and train new staff. 
· Adhere to inventory control procedures and help develop new ones.
· Assist Store Manager with establishing and implementing procedures for
museum’s store.
· Ensure smooth and efficient operation of museum’s store.
· Perform inventory control.
· Perform other duties as needed.

Customer Service Responsibilities:
· Use initiative and enthusiasm to engage customers in friendly and helpful
interaction.
· Create sales using a variety of genuine and sincere approaches such as
product demonstration. 
· Build sales using various techniques including active listening,
suggestive selling and effective closing.

Requirements:
· 3+ years of retail and supervisory experience
· Strong leadership ability; self-starter and proactive
· Team player and excellent people skills
· Honest, dependable and punctual
· Flexible in variety of situations 
· Excellent communicator; English proficiency
· Neat, accurate and detail-oriented
· Ability to work closely and effectively with museum staff and general
public, especially children
· Willingness to work on weekends, holidays and evenings
