The Canadian Heritage Information Network (CHIN) has been doing
collections management software reviews for a number of years now--their
2000 edition is available on-line at
http://www.chin.gc.ca/English/Collections_Management/Software_Review/index.html

In addition to EmbARK, a quick look through the review also found that
The Virtual Archiver and Virtual Collections can be used on MACs; there
might be others that I missed. I haven't used any of these programs, so
I can't offer any insights on them, but for anyone looking for an
off-the-shelf collections management system, it's definitely worth
looking through CHIN's review.
