Hello from Mongolia,
We at the National Museum of Mongolia are working on a project to barcode the collection. If possible, we'd like to use the object numbers as the data to encode. Many object numbers contain Cyrillic letters, for example 87ш-10-299 and 88Ү-99Ө. We've succeeded in encoding the numbers, but have been unable to find a scanner or solution for decoding and outputting Cyrillic characters. There are other barcoding approaches, but this would be the most efficient given other factors. Have any museums in other Cyrillic script countries succeeded in doing this? Any other wisdom to share? Thanks in advance. Please reach out off list, if you'd like.

Happy holidays,
