Jenny didn't ask for instruction on taking care of collections - I know from experience that she does a fine job of that.  She asked what other institutions allocate for collections management costs.  Her museum has already done all the things you so kindly recommended in your response.

Jenny:  The City of Greeley Museum allocated about $0.10/artifact not counting the buildings which are usually historic objects.  But this figure also doesn't include the cost of maintaining environments, security, mopping the floors, and all the other required operational costs - it's just the $ allocated directly for "collections management" curatorial staff to use, as is the case with your $0.01 figure I think.
