May I introduce Luis Gutierrez to you ? As a friend, I help him contacting
Museum to propose his services. He looks like to be the exact profile you
need. As a professional artist (painting, lithography and specially color
engraving), he offers services to museums. For example, here is the
introduction of a workshop held in Brussels at the "Musees Royaux d'Art et
d'Histoire, le Cinquantenaire":

* A work "decoded" by an artist may be quite different from historian's
analysis. However he rigorously highlights the structures and shows us how
the work could came up out the artist's mind, he never forget the poetic
point of view. An analysis made this way, throughout the sensibility and
the profesionalism of an artist, naturally lead to the basis of new works.

* Strenghtening our roots help us to develop new means to express ourself.
When we visit a museum, we often act like passive consumers, seeking a lost
ideal... We'll give the works of a museum a second life if we'll give them
the opportunity to live through our imagination and our story ! During the
workshop, participants will make several creative interpretation of a work.
The interpretations will illustrate form, color and will show a visual
code.

The workshop starts choosing an object in the museum and the first drawings
will be made in front of it with free and intuitive gestures. That first
contact should help the student to make the object familiar and to clean
his mind from preconceived ideas. For instance, some other steps will
handle chromatic expression and various composition's strategies, freely
developed by students. Theory, always animated by dynamic and practical
exercices, should constitute a complete "luggage" (full of "tools",
feelings and experimentations) to go and travel around the world of
creativity and artistic expression. Luis try to give the audience basis to
make them able to meet creation"s steps, relying the most possible on their
own feeling and experience.

During 20 years, Luis developed this method as a professor of fine arts and
he always adapted it to the country and the culture of his students. It is
a profesional but flexible approach of creation: no experience is required
and, at the same time, it could be most valuable for experienced students.

Luis proposes his services as a freelance. There is many other ways for him
to collaborate with Museum. ... but sorry if we have been to long. Don't
hesitate to contact us.
