The Museum Loan Network (Cambridge, MA) in MIT's Office of the Arts has an
opening for an Administrative Assistant.  The Museum Loan Network (MLN) is a
national collection-sharing program funded by the John S. and James L.
Knight Foundation and The Pew Charitable Trusts, and administered by MIT's
Office of the Arts. The Administrative Assistant will be in contact with
museums and funding organizations nationwide. The position will provide
support to the MLN Director and Program Associates. Responsibilities include
assisting in the preparation and coordination of Advisory Committee and
Curatorial Ambassador and other MLN-sponsored meetings; maintaining MLN
mailing list and grantee databases; developing and maintaining press
archive; and financial responsibilities including purchasing, maintaining
back-up accounting system for expenditures, and budget reconciliation. Other
duties includes answering inquiries; handling correspondence, developing and
maintaining filing systems, staff's travel arrangements, and other
administrative assistant duties as needed.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree preferred. Ability to work independently,
and excellent administrative and organizational skills. Ability to set
priorities and complete tasks in a timely manner necessary. Must possess
excellent computer skills including Windows experience with Microsoft
Office. Experience with Excel, Access, and HTMLN a plus. Must also be
proficient in use of e-mail and the Internet. Experience with database
systems helpful. Experience with basic financial functions necessary.
Excellent interpersonal skills essential. An interest in the arts or museums

Salary range: $29,000 - $32,000
