.INTERNSHIP - REVISED DATE TO FILL POSITION

June first is the new date by which the Westport Maritime Museum's paid
internship for an Education Assistance must be filled. Applications may be
submitted by sending resumes with three references and telephone contacts
for them by e-mail through the museum's web site
http://www.westportwa.com/museum, by fax to 360-268-1990, or by mail to PO
Box 1074, Westport, WA 98595.

The internship is a Washington Service Corps (Americorps) position, open to
U.S. citizens between the ages of 18 and 25 who are high school graduates
and who can be physically present in the State of Washington on the date of
hire. The eleven-month internship carries a $740 per month stipend, health
insurance, child care subsidy for those qualifying, and an education award
of $4725 upon successful completion of the internship.

The Education Assistant will be expected to implement, upgrade, and expand
the museum's existing K-12 and adult education programs on the main museum
campus and at a satellite facility operated by the museum at nearby Grays
Harbor Lighthouse. The Education Assistant will research and write
curricula, present tours and other educational programs, and train and
supervise volunteers giving tours and programs. The intern will also have
the opportunity to work in collections management and exhibit development.

The Westport Maritime Museum is operated by the Westport-South Beach
Historical Society, a non-profit organization incorporated in the State of
Washington. The museum is located at a former Coast Guard Lifeboat Station.
Its collections and exhibits focus on Coast Guard, Life-Saving Service, and
Lighthouse Service history and life in a maritime community.

For more information about the museum and about the community, visit the
museum's web site at http://www.westportwa.com/museum.
