Part-time Contract 
Institutional Sales Representative
Nonprofit Database

The International Foundation for Art Research (IFAR) is looking for an experienced Institutional Sales Representative to fill a newly-created part-time, contract position responsible for selling its Art Law and Cultural Property Database to the academic, library and museum markets.

IFAR, a New York-based nonprofit educational and research organization, works at the intersection of art scholarship, art law and the public interest. For more than forty years, IFAR has served as a trusted resource for museums, universities, government agencies, the art and legal communities, and the general public. The Database, launched in late 2008 as a free on-line resource, is an integral component of IFAR’s educational outreach and has a dedicated user-base. It is being transformed into a subscription-based service. 

*Overall Responsibilities:* 
The Institutional Sales Representative will be responsible for all marketing and sales operations of IFAR’s specialized Database in the library, museum, gallery and legal markets and for achieving established sales objectives and building the institutional client base. He or she will: 
- Effectively represent IFAR and our product to customers, working with IFAR’s Executive Director and Customer
- Support Administrator
- Generate leads for prospect institutions; identifying priority leads, tracking them via Sales Force and closing sales opportunities. 
- Prepare monthly reports listing and identifying potential sales. 
- Participate in regular progress reporting conference calls.
- Maintain relationships with existing customers to ensure renewals.
- Gather and analyze data related to market size, potential and opportunities. 
- Recommend, plan and, where appropriate, implement strategic promotional events and exhibits, including participation in regional and national conferences and trade shows.
- Develop presentation template. Formally present our product to individuals and groups when necessary and appropriate. 
- Contribute to the development of marketing collateral and develop marketing plans relevant to the database. 
- Maintain Sales Force database records for all accounts.

NOTES:	Midtown Manhattan NYC Office based position with some telecommuting allowed. Additional Salary Information: Monthly fee plus commissions commensurate with experience

*Requirements:*
Ideal Candidate will Possess: 
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 to 5 years territory/outside publishing electronic resource sales experience in the institutional library market to an academic law library, museum or law firm customer base.
- Excellent organizational, writing and time management skills 
- Strong presentation/communication skills
- Computer skills, including familiarity with Excel and Access 
- Sales Force SalesCloud experience  (Preferred)
- Ability to travel overnight – 15%
- Motivation, initiative, and ability to work independently and without support/secretarial staff  
- Understanding of the Visual Arts, Museums or Legal fields (Preferred)
