Advanced apologies for the duplicate poting. The registration fee was incorrectly listed in my previous posting regarding the CCAHA Architectural Records Symposium. The correct registration fee for the 2-day program is $250, not $200 as was previous posted. Below is the corrected information and registration form.

Thank you and sorry for any confusion.

Best Regards,

Laura Hortz Stanton

Director of Preservation Services

The Conservation Center for Art and Historic Artifacts (CCAHA) presents:

Architectural Records Symposium: Managing and Preserving Design Records

July 16 & 17, 2007

Chicago, IL

Held at and cosponsored by the Chicago History Museum

About the Program

Architectural Records Symposium:

Managing and Preserving Design Records

Architectural records are vital documentation of our built environment and provide insight into social and economic trends throughout history. However, collecting, managing, preserving, and providing access to these records can often feel like a monumental task for those charged with their care. Speakers at this symposium will address the challenges involved in managing architectural records collections, on both theoretical and practical levels, through case studies, lectures, and demonstrations. Participants will learn about the significance of architectural records; the array of materials and methods used to create them, from the earliest processes to those in use today; collecting policies; appraisal; intellectual control; preventive and remedial preservation measures; innovations in conservation treatment; methods of access; reformatting; and management of electronic files; as well as have opportunities to engage in discussions with fellow participants who are managing similar collections.

This symposium is intended for archivists, librarians, curators, historic preservation officers, records managers, historians, and architects who are involved in collecting, preserving, and providing access to architectural, landscape, and historic preservation records in cultural institutions and architectural firms.

Stipends

CCAHA is pleased to offer a limited number of stipends of up to $750 to help defray travel, lodging, and registration costs associated with attending Architectural Records Symposium: Managing and Preserving Design Records.
