Check out "Architectural Graphic Standards"  a Bible of sorts for the
profession; it has an extensive section on ergonomics (sp?) with dimensions
for all kinds of people (ages, handicaps) all kinds of activities (sitting,
standing, reaching..) and all kinds of "furniture."  It's technical,
comprehensive, & authoritative.
