The Wall Street Journal is always good for a new thread.  I agree with
Janice Klein - I'm more sad than angry.  I doubt the journalist has been
to any other museums than big-name institutions for big-name shows.   I
don't think old quilts belong in art museums because they deserve better
interpretation than they're likely to receive.  But I would much rather
see a quilt than what I saw at the Hirschorn Gallery in Washington, DC
in 1990 - a larger-than-life photograph of Allan Ginsberg totally nude!
 I still haven't recovered - they didn't even have a PG-13 warning
outside the gallery :)

I've potentially offended the WSJ, art museums, and fans of Allan
Ginsberg - my work here is done!
