I managed the collections at the Maritime Museum in San Francisco forever,
it seemed, and, under the National Park Service we had a policy of some kind
of restricted use. I know we sailed the scow schooner ALMA a lot as the
museum's ambassador vessel and they rebuilt the hull of the schooner, CA
THAYER with an eye to sail it.

The small boat curator, Bill Doll, could probably fill you in on the lingo
and policies that allowed for sailing of restored boats. Sara Conklin
