-----Summary-----

The Foundation Certificate in Art Law is designed for those with no legal qualifications who work or have an interest in the field of art and antiquities and who wish to gain knowledge of the law as it pertains to art transactions. It will not transform students into barristers or solicitors, but it will provide a firm grounding in art law and will allow participants to identify legal difficulties at a time when it is possible to forestall them. It consists of 10 modules covering the main areas of law pertinent to this field. For each module a fully comprehensive self-study pack will be provided, which will form the principal method of tuition, although supplementary teaching will take place at a number of optional residential weekends. It is of one year's duration. modules, for each of which students will obtain a fully comprehensive distance learning pack. Supplementary tuition will also be provided by up to one optional residential weekend.
