The latest entry to the online project journal Japanese Wooden Boats in Woodblock Prints was posted this morning on the Museum of Underwater Archaeology website. This project follows East Carolina University Maritime Studies graduate student Michelle Damian as she conducts research for her Master’s thesis. The new entry, entitled Categories and Cataloguing, records how she has decided to go about gathering and organizing data including images. She is examining several artists including Ando Hiroshige and Katsushika Hokusai and is following up on the suggestions she has received from the audience so far. This journal entry includes a few representative images that will used in the study.

You can reach all the journal entries through the left hand menu on the introduction page:

As always, please feel free to send your comments and suggestions to Michelle via the link provided at the bottom of each page.

Best regards,

T Kurt Knoerl
