Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Development software- GiftMaker vs. PastPerfect

I work at a small museum which currently uses an old version of PastPerfe=
ct
for our collections database. We also use a program called GiftMaker Pro=

from Campaign Associates for tracking donation, mailing lists, membership=
s,
etc. The company that produces GiftMaker has recently been bought out by=

another company called Blackbaud, and will soon be forced to start using =

Blackbaud’s software Raiser’s Edge. The conversion to this new fundr=
aising
software will be several thousand dollars, which is very significant for =
a
museum of our size. It has recently come to my attention that Past Perfe=
ct
v4.0 has fundraising and membership features included. While I doubt tha=
t
the development modules in Past Perfect will be as intricate as those in =

GiftMaker, I am hoping that they may be adequate for a small institution =

such as mine. I am looking for feedback from anyone who has used these =

features in PastPerfect, and especially anyone who has used both
PastPerfect 4 and GiftMaker. Thank you for your assistance.

Dayna Aldridge,
Membership Coordinator
