Hi, Folks --
I spend most of my time with this list lurking and enjoying the assorted
(sometimes sordid) threads. I would like to take this opportunity to pass
along a nifty source of information and ask a favor.

First, the source. I'm not sure if this URL has been posted. If it has, I
don't believe it has been recently and maybe some of the newer members of
the list would find it useful. Check out BUBL (Bulletin Board for
Libraries). It's a subject-oriented collection of good information/
research resources. It's not the prettiest site on the Web, but I
guarantee its usefulness. Find it at:
      http://www.bubl.bath.ac.uk/BUBL/
You can go directly to the Subject Listing by pointing your browser to:
      http://www.bubl.bath.ac.uk/BUBL/Treealphabet.html
There is also a BUBL gopher at:
      gopher://ukoln.bath.ac.uk:7070/

And now for my favor: please try to be a little judicious in including
original messages with replies. Often, it is enough to include only the
first sentence or two to refresh our memories about the subject of a
thread. Editing out the extraneous will help save these feeble old
librarian's eyes. Also, in yesterday's Digest, there were two completed
survey forms. While I'm sure some of the members of the list were
interested, I'd venture a guess that many were not. Please send completed
survey forms only to the person who posted them. If there's enough
interest in the results, I'm sure the original poster would be willing to
post a summary.

I'll climb off my soapbox now and go back to lurking in my little
library.

Thanks for listening and DO check out BUBL.
