Dear Cheryl:

The American Association for State and Local History (AASLH) recently established a listserv for the historic house museum community. Anyone working with historic house museums (paid or unpaid) are welcome to join the list and participate in ongoing discussions. The list is just one
feature of an initiative by AASLH to provide services and support for those working in historic house museums. We also publish books that address issues in this field, have established a three day workshop focusing on historic house museums, and include sessions on historic house
museums issues at our Annual Meeting.

To join the listserv, visit the web site www.egroups.com. Then under the search field enter the name “historic-house-museums” (without the quotation marks). When the group name appears click on the line with that name. A summary of the group’s statistics will appear for you. Click
the “Join Now” button in the upper right-hand corner and follow the step-by-step instructions for registering with egroups. You will have the option of receiving messages as they are sent or a once-a-day digest of all the messages.

To learn more about AASLH publications or its workshops, visit our web site, www.aaslh.org, and hit either the publications or workshops key. We will be offering, in the next year, online versions of our onsite workshops. As soon as that schedule is available, it will be posted to
Museum-L.

You can always contact me directly at [log in to unmask] if you have questions.
