The Mountain-Plains Museum Association, a regional affiliate of AAM,
is soliciting proposals for its 1998 annual meeting in Lubbock,
Texas. The theme of the meeting is "Endless Horizons, Boundless
Opportunities."

The museum profession is a rapidly evolving, dynamic field which
incorporates a wide variety of specialized occupations. Both
internal and external changes will affect how museums and museum
professionals react and adapt to new ideas, new expectations, and new
audiences. As we look toward a new millennium, we see endless
horizons and boundless opportunities for development and growth.
Planning for these new challenges is imperative if museums are to
survive and thrive in the coming century. We must be ready to take
advantage of these new horizons and opportunities to create better,
more responsive museums for the 21st century.

If you would like to submit an idea for a session, program or
speaker, please contact me and I will send you a Proposal Form.
Proposals should be postmarked by January 16, 1998 or faxed no later
than January 19, 1998. Thank you.
