I am responding to Carol Henderson's inquiry about Head Start programs.
For my thesis at the Cooperstown Graduate Program I worked with the local
Head Start classroom. I did 6 pre visit activities in the classroom that
included Native American drums, jingle bracelets, listening to Native
music, herb identification, hankerchief decoration and different museum
related books. The children, their parents, and staff came to the
Farmers' Museum last week and it was a great success. At the Museum, we
made pinwheels, did a scavenger hunt type activity and played period
games. I found Head Start to be a great organization to work with.
I would be happy to answer any more questions or comments.
Good Luck!
